Characteristics /Nature /Features of Management:-

Characteristics of management means the nature,feature or qualities of management.

1. Management is a goal oriented process:     

        Every type of business organisation has some goals which they want to achieve. Management is a one which combines the efforts of different workers to achieve those goals.So, we can say that management is goal-oriented process as it helps in fulfilling the goals.

     2.Management is all pervasive: 

   

       All pervasive means universally applicable.It is right to say that management is all pervasive which means management is applicable to each and every organisation whether it is public or private,profit earning or non profit organisation.

     3.It is multidimensional:

       It means management includes various dimensions

• Management of work
• management of people
• management of operations

    So,we can say that management is multidimensional activity as we need to manage work, people and operations.

     4. Management is a continuous process:

         Management is a continuous process because a manager can not stop managing the organisation once the process of management overs it starts again from the first step.

     5.  Management is a group activity:

        A business is a collection of different individuals. A manager apply their  management techniques over them.So, we can say that management is a group activity which is performed by the manager over the group of persons to achieve the goals of business.

       6. Management is a dynamic function:

         Dynamic function means changing function. As per the changing requirement  a manager needs to change his way of  managing. So, we can say that management is a dynamic function as due to changes in environment one need to adopt that changes.

         Management is dynamic function because as per the changes in environment we need to adopt those changes.

          7. Management is an Intangible force:

             Management is an intangible force which means we cannot see but its presence can be felt.
